'Sons of Anarchy' Actor Alan O'Neill Died at 47

Alan O'Neill, who played Hugh on "Sons of Anarchy", had died, his manager Greg Meyer confirmed to Variety.

According to TMZ, the late star was found by his girlfriend in the hallway of her L.A. apartment in the late hours of Wednesday, June 6.

Irish-born actor Alan O'Neill died in Los Angeles this week.

O'Neill, whose acting career began in the 1990s, was reportedly a heavy smoker and had a drink problem. No possible cause of death was not mentioned, but TMZ's sources told the publication that there were no signs of foul play, and that autopsy results should be available soon.

Although perhaps best known for his role in the popular motorcycle drama, O'Neill also starred in Irish soap Fair City and a string of United States films.

U.S. actress Kristen Renton, who played Ima Tite, said: "RIP sir... my you find peace now".

Sons of Anarchy debuted in 2008, before eventually concluding in 2014 after 92 episodes.

O'Neill also appeared in many other projects.

His co-stars paid tribute on Twitter. "My thoughts are with his partner, family and children at this time".

Seamus Power tweeted: "So sad to hear of the passing of Alan O'Neill who played "Keith" in Fair City. Rest in peace old pal".
