‘Modern Family’ producer threatens to leave Fox’s TV studio

Levitan added: "Fox Studio has been a wonderful home for most of my career - so many awesome people there who share the concerns about @Fox News but aren't in a position to speak out". One of the most prominent voices to decry Carlson's words was Family Guy creator Seth MacFarlane, who now sees several of his creations airing on the network. "For now, I will take some time to see where those people land, and at that point, make a decision about my future", he said in a statement.

Judd Apatow, the producer and writer behind "Knocked Up" and "The 40-Year-Old Virgin", also has criticized the news channel on Twitter - and called on others in the entertainment industry to speak out against it.

Steve Levitan, the co-creator and executive producer of ABC's "Modern Family", which is owned by Fox's TV studio, tweeted on Tuesday that he would leave the network due to Fox News' coverage of President Trump's border policies.

His current overall deal recently expired, and because of the Fox News outcry, Levitan is not going to renew it. "Fox Studio has been a wonderful home for most of my career", he wrote. Who has a movie, TV show, sporting event, news show at Fox? "This bulls-t is the opposite of what #ModernFamily stands for", he tweeted on Monday night. Laura Ingraham on Monday described the detention centers being used to house the separated children "as essentially summer camps". "But I too can not condone the support their news division promotes toward the immoral and abusive policies and actions taken by this current administration toward immigrant children".

Levitan had tweeted earlier that he was "disgusted" to work for the company.

"The Orville" star's philanthropy comes on the heels of MacFarlane decrying Fox News over the weekend for "fringe" tactics that make him "embarrassed" to work for the larger company.
