Kim summit: China plays an important role

Kim's motorcade was escorted by traffic police from Changi Airport on Sunday.

Security for Kim Jong Un at his first meeting with Trump is expected to be ultra-tight, with measures likely surpassing those seen at the April 27 inter-Korean summit, experts and analysts say.

Kim, in his first public comments since arriving, said Singapore's role would be recorded in history if the summit was a success.

The North Korean leader's limousine and accompanying motorcade wound its way through Singapore before arriving at the St. Regis Hotel, where he will be staying during the summit.

Williams believes Kim's policies have shifted from building a nuclear arsenal into improving the welfare of his nation, as the summit in Singapore opens North Korea up to the worldwide community.

Kim Jong Un is greeted by Singapore's minister for foreign affairs, Vivian Balakrishnan, upon landing in the city-state on Sunday, June 10, 2018.

Lee is scheduled to meet with President Donald Trump on Monday, the ministry added.

Officials onboard Air Force One include Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, National Security Adviser John Bolton, White House Chief of Staff John Kelly and White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders.

Officers in beach arrest won’t face criminal charges
"In my eyes, I'm not a criminal", said Weinman , who is on probation for a previous misdemeanor assault. As officers try to arrest her, she runs away, shouting profanities and telling them not to handcuff her.

He added in addition to using bulletproof vehicles, North Korea's security detail would likely deploy layers of protection surrounding the summit venue and try to divert attention from Kim Jong Un's auto whenever he moves.

Trump said on Saturday that Kim has a "one-time shot" at reaching a deal with the US.

"North Korea stands to be plugged into the rest of the world".

In his New Year message, Kim extended an olive branch to enemy South Korea, sent a team to the Winter Olympics there in February, and held two summits with South Korean President Moon Jae-in in April and May.

But since taking power in 2011 after his father's death, the youthful Kim has displayed a mixture of ruthlessness, pragmatism and statecraft to get this prize: to sit across the table with the leader of the United States and be treated as an equal. It also successfully tested missiles that had enough range to reach the U.S. mainland. They believe his latest engagement is aimed at getting the United States to ease crippling economic sanctions that have squeezed the impoverished country.

Trump is far less predictable, but badly needs the kudos that a successful summit will bring ahead of congressional elections in November.

"In the last few years, it's been building nuclear weapons".

The historic meeting will be the first time a North Korean leader meets a sitting USA president and will take place on Sentosa island on Tuesday.
