Antoine Griezmann announces he will stay at Atletico Madrid in 'The Decision'

Atletico Madrid forward Antoine Griezmann has been heavily criticised for his decision to announce his club future on live television.

Lionel Messi also voiced public support for the move, but the two-goal hero of Atleti's UEFA Europa League final win over Marseille insists he is going nowhere.

The documentary, which ran for half an hour before the decision was announced, revealed that June 3rd was decision day for Griezmann, with Barcelona believed to be the leading contenders to sign him and yet he could not leave the club that gave him his chance to shine on the game's biggest stages.

In a stunt that recalls LeBron James' move to the Miami Heat in 2010, Griezmann said he will let everyone know before France's World Cup opener whether he will accept a new contract offer from Atletico or push through a €100 million move to the Camp Nou ahead of next season.

"They are doing everything possible to make sure the team keeps growing".

'I have chose to stay, ' Griezmann said.

Nadal thumps Del Potro to ease into French Open final against Thiem
Last year, Nadal completed a "Decima" in Paris , lifting the trophy without dropping a set and losing just 35 games in total. Then Thiem got to 10-all with a drop shot of his own. "That was definitely the key to the match", Cecchinato said.

"They are making an effort to bring top players".

A video filmed by Griezmann at his home in Madrid, posted on Twitter by Movistar, teased the 27-year-old's decision.

He added: "I feel there are things to do with Atletico".

The show documented Griezmann's thought process from as far back as April, with Atletico offering him more money but Barcelona providing a better shot at silverware.

The French attacker, who's getting ready to lead his nation as they aim to win gold in Russian Federation, has revealed that he will be remaining with the Rojiblancos this summer, despite Barcelona's explicit interest. "I will not regret it".
