Alexander Zverev comes back to reach French Open 4th round

Three-time champion Williams is playing her first Grand Slam tournament since taking time off last year due to pregnancy, while Sharapova is at Roland Garros for the first time in three years after serving a doping ban in 2016 and being refused a wildcard 12 months ago. It takes some doing, especially on clay, ' Fuller said on BBC 5 Live Sports today.

Second-seeded Alexander Zverev has reached his first Grand Slam quarter-final the hard way, beating Karen Khachanov 4-6, 7-6 (4), 2,6, 6-3, 6-3 on Sunday for his third straight comeback win in five sets.

He will play Austrian seventh seed Dominic Thiem, who beat Japan's Kei Nishikori 6-2 6-0 5-7 6-4.

German Zverev, 21, beat the unseeded Russian 4-6 7-6 (7-4) 2-6 6-3 6-3 in three hours 29 minutes in an enthralling match in Paris.

He had to save a match point in the 10th game of the decider before breaking and holding to make the last 16 for the first time where he will face either French 15th seed Lucas Pouille or Russia´s Karen Khachanov.

Zverev was forced to save match point on serve at 4-5 down but survived and eventually secured his first third-round win at the French Open. Though the world No. 3-ranked Zverev has won eight career titles-including three ATP Masters 1000 crowns-he has yet to find success at the Grand Slam level.

But Zverev fought back from 2-1 down to win the final two sets and become the youngest quarter-finalist in Paris since a 20-year-old Juan Martin del Potro in 2009.

Her profile skyrocketed when she Wednesday Stallone in 1985 and then went on to appear with him in Rocky IV and Cobra . Nielsen released two photos that showed the mama-to-be cradling her burgeoning baby bump.

"I'm young. I might as well stay on court and entertain you guys", the 21-year-old Zverev joked with the crowd in Paris. I suspect these matches are going to catch up with him.

On Court Suzanne Lenglen, Zverev's smash at the net gave him match point, which he took when Khachanov netted a forehand.

"It's the best, a five-set match".

World number 38 Khachanov accelerated away with the third set, earning a double break after Zverev missed a chance to hit back.

But he has never reached a Grand Slam quarter-final, although the longer best-of-five format has worked twice in his favour now at Roland Garros.

Novak Djokovic matched Roger Federer's mark of reaching nine consecutive quarter-finals at Roland Garros by beating No. 30 seed Fernando Verdasco 6-3, 6-4, 6-2.
