Afghanistan vow to bounce back from debut Test drubbing

India's stand-in skipper Ajinkya Rahane on Friday said his side were determined to be "ruthless" in their approach after the hosts demolished Afghanistan by an innings and 262 runs inside two days in its debut Test match here. As a Test team bowling unit, you take a backseat and be defensive for some period of time and if you get one or two wickets, then you can again attack, that's what they did in third session.

India captain Ajinkya Rahane feels "visualising Test match situations" during practice will go a long way in preparing Afghanistan for the unforgiving five-day format.

After team India's sweet gesture towards the young Afghan team, social media was all praise for the "beautiful" gesture.

Afghanistan captain Asghar Stanikzai said he was surprised by the margin of defeat but insisted the team with their new glowing red Test caps would "learn lessons" from the loss. "It was important for all of us to stick to our basics, create some good habits", he said.

Earlier, allrounder Hardik Pandya mixed caution with aggression en route his stroke-filled 71 as India posted a commendable total, which seemed to be good enough for the minnows. It has barely been twenty-four hours since they lost their maiden Test against India inside two days, so that sinking feeling is surely still eating into their sleep-deprived skin.

They began their qualifying campaign for the 2011 World Cup in Jersey in 2008, winning Division Five of the World Cricket League.

They were bowled out for 109 in their first innings in response to a formidable Indian score of 474.

Antoine Griezmann announces he will stay at Atletico Madrid in 'The Decision'
A video filmed by Griezmann at his home in Madrid, posted on Twitter by Movistar , teased the 27-year-old's decision . He added: "I feel there are things to do with Atletico".

Word of advice: take it on the chin and move on Afghanistan.

To a question on spinners Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja, he said they performed well and they knew what they were capable of and they performed as per their standards.

Most cricket-loving Afghans were watching the match on TV back home as they prepared for a three-day public holiday marking the Muslim festival of Eid. It was India's game to take whenever they wanted it. With their bowling, they can damage any team. Khan, who has the record of the fastest 100 wickets in the ODIs and second joint-fastest 50 wickets in T20s and also earned a lot of reputation in this year's IPL, gave away 154 runs in 209 deliveries in the Bengaluru Test, getting just 2 wickets in exchange. You can not blame them (for their batting performances). While it is good to keep hitting an area outside the off-stump to induce a false shot from the batsman, hitting the seventh stump line ensured that even the inexperienced Afghanistan batsmen managed to happily see them go to the keeper.

Rahane: "As a Test team, they will improve the more they play".

"It is just about playing the matches".

When the battle was won and it was time to rejoice, Rahane did not forget the rivals, who were in Test cricket for the first time. "Their learning curve is huge", Simmons said.
