The Walking Dead: Andrew Lincoln to Exit in Season 9

Andrew Lincoln, star of AMC's "The Walking Dead", will reportedly leave the show after its ninth season, which is now in production. It's going to be a very different show with characters handling very different issues, challenges and threats than we've seen before.

AMC declined to comment on Lincoln's departure. Reedus has also been with the series since the first season.

Andrew Lincoln will be leaving The Walking Dead by the end of season 9.

Allegedly, Lauren Cohan is set to only appear in six out of the first eight episodes of season nine as she will be starring in Whiskey Cavalier on ABC.

The same report states that Rick will only feature in half-a-dozen episodes of the upcoming season before calling it quits.

This time there was a little rust to shake off - she only gave birth in September - and she didn't quite move as when at her best. After beating Williams in the 2016 final, Muguruza's title defense was ended in the fourth round a year ago .

The show took a hit with fans in the past year after killing off veteran characters Glenn Rhee, played by Steven Yeun; and young Carl Grimes, played by Chandler Riggs.

According to Collider, Cohen's future with the show is also in the air, and it remains possible that both Lincoln and Cohen could be gone by the time the series' next season wraps up.

Collider has heard that AMC and the show's producers have offered Norman Reedus a pay bump to stick around and assume the leading man duties.

Now it's being said that Andrew Lincoln is leaving the show due to wanting to focus on movies. With Lincoln set to exit during season 9 and Cohan in a reduced role, one has to wonder of the days of The Walking Dead are numbered.

However, the character was allowed to live as Rick attempted to show him mercy. Or is AMC planning to kill two of their biggest characters as a means of cranking up the drama? Unlike in the past, AMC was slow to announce a season nine renewal as the series was negotiating a larger pact with now-former showrunner Scott M. Gimple.
